Buckwheat Zydeco, Jr. and Ils Sont Partis Band

The Legendary Ils Sont Partis Band is derived from the Late Great Stanley Dural Jr. also known as Buckwheat Zydeco’s band.  The band, now led by Stanley’s son, is keeping his fathers legacy alive with many of the same band members. This Grammy and Emmy Award Winning band has performed over 2,500 shows and a host of television appearances. (David Letterman,CBS Morning News, Good Morning America to name a few)

It’s almost a curse being the son of a famous musician, especially when your daddy is the legendary Buckwheat Zydeco, who elevated Zydeco to worldwide prominence. If you don’t measure up, there will be plenty of folks to cut you down to size. Sir Reginald Dural,  understands that but embraced the challenge anyway by assuming the stage name of Buckwheat Zydeco, Jr.

Though Buckwheat, Jr. played in Buckwheat’s band since he was 17 (until the elder’s passing in 2016), he has written songs for years and performed as Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. since 2017.

Sir Reginald assumes the role of the lead vocalist, accordion player and keyboardist. Along side him is his father long time friend Bassist and Musical Director of 33 years Lee Allen Zeno. The other Il Sont Partis band members who performed with Buckwheat Zydeco for a quarter century or more includes Drummer Kevin Menard, Guitarist Mike Melchione, Rub Board Patrick Landry and Trumpeter Curtis Watson. Also joining the band Buck’s long time friend Louisiana legend and Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame Guitarist Paul “Lil Buck” Senegal.

Don’t miss this fun Tucson celebration of all things CAJUN!
It will be there biggest Mardi Gras celebration in town!
