The Cochise County All-Stars (CCAS) started their musical journey nearly 15 years ago as a strictly honky tonk band playing the jukebox country hits that were popular when Route 66 was Main Street USA. Over the years a few natural additions and subtractions have led to a tighter, more refined group of seasoned professionals who perform songs they love – style or genre be damned. A CCAS show can easily feature a Hank Williams tune back to back with an obscure Latin rock instrumental followed by a popular jazz standard. It all works when you have a group of talented musicians who have joined forces to present an eclectic selection of songs that have been influential in their personal development as musicians and represent a vast array of great songwriters. The five-piece band comes from a variety of backgrounds, both geographically and experientially, and no matter what genre they perform, they bring their best. The toughest question that a CCAS band member can take is “what kind of music do you guys play?” but the easy answer usually includes “there’s always something for everyone.”
